Decent game controller?

I was pretty sure I was decided on the Royal 2 (£62), but then I managed to find the ZZZ edition for £85 - we have an Xbox in the lounge, so I might as well get a controller that's compatible...

The whole ZZZ unboxing experience was fantastic - even more so when I paid £85...

I'll do a new Cyberpunk play through once the kids go back to school and share my thoughts...
 
Got the gamesir tarantula 8k controller, was having a rough time on the mw4 beta on m&k basically impossible. I seem to be terrible with controller now but have had success in the beta aim assist on games like cod and apex and even bf6 is crazy strong I may have to rethink this and put some effort in on the controller.

I'll get to the point but 8k polling rate anyone any idea what type of FPS you kind of lose in games with this?

Depends on your CPU and a number of other factors. Best to test yourself running 1 game each at 1k vs. 4k vs. 8k. For me (on a Marius PS5 controller) I’ve happily settled at 2k hz. 8k didn’t impact my fps to a noticeable amount but I’ve found 2k feels the most consistent.
 
Well it finally happened, seems my G7 Pro review sample is dead :( It will not power on but connecting USB to PC does indicate Windows detects it, just no power on.


What shall I buy myself now then, Flydigi Apex 5 Pro? Seems the logical shout at something alternative that also has keyboard mapping...

Found out it has a hard reset button hidden behind the sticker, pressed it and now all good again lol.

It'd be interesting to hear your thoughts on the 8k version, I'm sure Gamesir would happily send one out to you. Whilst I'm not a massive fan of the Xbox layout compared to the PS one I think the updated analogue sticks/modules on the 8k version are some of the best when it comes to 'linear' feel and the tension.
 
I'll try emailing them but the last contact I had there is different now seems turnaround for reps is quite high generally speaking at brands!

Bit worrying, how long did you have it for, did it have a hard life?

What do you think the issue is, dead battery, is it replaceable?
 
I think it just froze and needed the reset button pressing. Mine is the original pre release version I guess!

Once got a parcel delivered from Evri with a note through the door 'dropped over back gate'.

I was in the house at the time and we didn't have a back gate.

It's arrived today :) Will be giving it a go later on.

Really keen to experiment with the touch pads and what you can remap them too. They were a big selling point for me.
