Decent generic 12VHPWR adapter cable?

Ocuk kindly sent out an official nvidia cable to me, but it's to 3*8 pin but the card should be 2*8 pin.

I assume will still work fine with two of the three plugged in?

I'd presume so given that's what they've sent but it'll not be aesthetically pleasing if that sort of thing bothers you.

Someone that has one of these cables handy, would you be able to fit it into a card and route the cables if there was 3cm or less gap between the edge of the card and the side of the case?

The thought crossed my mind that long term I probably plan to put the GPU in my SFF case, which unsurprisingly has limited space. That's using a Corsair SF450 Gold PSU, which from, what I can tell also doesn't have a specific 12VHPWR for it.

can anyone recommend a good extension cable I have a 3080 but heard the hpwr cables work fine and are back compat. id love to get rid of the clunky nvidia adapter

I am using a CableMod replacement cable for my 3080FE. It fits and works ok but you have to remove the plastic cover plate (it just slides off).
They do extensions as well, but i got mine in a sale for cheaper.

If you get a replacement cable make sure you pick the right one for you PSU, you can double check on their web site.

I have all three plugged into my PSU and is fine. (think you have to have all of them connected)

On their website you can get the cables with 2 x 8 pin connectors but are very expensive with postage cost added on.
You may be lucky and find somewhere cheaper to get this version but i couldn't.

thats good to hear that it still works I was worried it might send too much power to the the gpu.

From what i have read the 12vhpwr cable only needs 2 x 8 pin connectors, any more are redundant (not sure what this means) but have to be plugged in.

Our 12VHPWR cables/extensions require you to plug in all available 8pin connectors for pinout reasons, otherwise you may encounter issues or cause some damage in certain cases. So yes, the third 8pin connector is redundant in our 3x8pin cables, just like the fourth one in 4x8pin versions, but they must be all plugged in to ensure proper operation.
