Deciding whether to jump ship

Can the current company you work for really reveal what salary you on currently on to another company ?

No law against it - and a new employer can always insist on seeing the last 3 months payslips as a condition of their offer.

Never lie about salary. You have to state it in terms of what you expect for the new role. At most you can decline to answer the question - many employers put clauses into employment contracts forbidding salary discussions except with your manager and HR.
