Deep Space 9 or Babylon 5? There's only one way to find out...FIGHT!

SAAB was good and was developing nicely but fox just picked the wrong series to keep going, as SAAB was up against a Bruce Campbell series, Adventures of Brisco County Jr, and they went with that for the next year. Then that got cancelled the year after opps they got that wrong in a big way.

Plus if you had Sky at the time of SAAB hitting here the series was on at the same time each week, as think they had it first from memory.

B5 and DS9 both have amazing long running story lines. They were truly awesome series that I really couldn't be forced to choose between. I'd have to take both!

Although B5 had -far- better theme music. Especially in S3 and S5.
 
The babylon project was our last best hope for peace, it failed.......

Great show B5, love DS9, Firefly and BSG too (who wouldn't want to be Gaius Baltar?)
 
Another DS9 Lover here.. some fantastic episodes and the Dominion storyline is epic...

Favorite Character has to be Gul Dukat closley followed by Cheif O'Brian and Quark.

I have watched every single episode of Voyager, enjoyed it a lot, but I will admit I prefer DS9 over it.. and its still nice to see an episode of DS9 I have never seen before because I still know there are a few that I have not seen.

I loved both B5 and BG. The levels of sophistication and mature storytelling in both are much highter than that of DS9. Yet they've never delivered the same fuzzy, euphoric sensation as an episode of Bashir and co.

Why? I just wrote another sg1 episode, you can flesh out the fine details and maybe get another season done!

The formula was dire, imho it didnt go anywhere after a season or two so i stopped watching it.

Firefly showed promise but was too Buffy'ed, Sexy cast though.

BSG is ok... The first 2 seasons were great, the third just got too ludicrous and unbelievable (even for a sci fi show)
 
I like pretty much all the treks (even enterprise which might ruin my credibility) and yes ds9 is very very good

dont think ive ever actually watched an ep of b5 it just looks like a bunch of d rate actors in £5 halloween costumes pretending to be a serious show... as people in the thread seem to love it i will assume this doesn't matter to the story but it put me off from the very start

give me the pretty startrek any day :D

As for the others i love Stargate, but felt it went on a bit too much, and went downhill as soon as the go'ould were defeated as none of the later badguys could compair to them

BSG is cool but not much seems to happen, too much story in that one... not enough awesome space battles :D

Firefly was an odd one, technically its not very good, the acting isn't great, the premise is a joke, the stories aren't all that... yet for some reason it works and i thought it was very good.. the film is even better

No sure how you can dis B5 with a comment like that.:)

Anywho, I think Firefly works in the same way as Buffy, it never took itself seriously.
 
Stopped watching babylon 5 after the shadow wars, when all the remaining elders came back for the final battle.

Did we ever get to find out what happened with babylon 4? Last I remember was it was stuck in some sort of timetrap/warp thingy?? :confused:
