Windows 10 PC I have my default storage location currently as E: I'd like to remove this noisy drive out of my system and use my NAS as default storage location for windows, going through settings>system>storage I cant for the life of me get my NAS to show.

I have mapped my NAS drive to the computer and given full permissions, any ideas?

Nas is network storage, youll have to Map it, go to "This PC" in explorer and then on the ribbon go to Map Network Drive and enter the details for your NAS share
it wont ever show up in system->storage

This is all new to me so please excuse any stupid questions!

I have the folder on the network mapped as A:

can you browse the shares against the NAS ip from your file manager? if not the shares may need more setup in the synology DSM

i mean on the network your NAS is connected to it will have an IP address (192.168.something usually), the same as your computer does, (you probably visit it in your browser to do the setup) if you visit that in your file manager instead i would expect it to list the shares, if it doesnt then id assume the NAS isnt presenting the shares out
