...You've played 282 hours of Defense Grid? That's like 12 solid days.
 
Sure 'tis good fun. A few annoyances but yeah its fun. Getting golds is quite hard on a few though, and yet to find the best combination of towers, though Infernos + Temporals. Mind I've just gotten to the Cannon tower, and that upgraded (can only go to lvl 2 atm) is good. The LoS issue is a new one to defence games, thats fairly interesting.

I hope they release updates/new maps.

Edit: I've found really that Guns, Infernos (only with Temporals) and Meteors the only worthwhile towers.

I only played it for a bit last night, am I right in assuming the fewer towers you beat a map with the higher your score?

Was trying out some of the other modes and some of the levels that have a 10/15 tower limit are pretty tough - more so the open plan maps as it's far harder to send them where you want and cover entry/exit points!

I tried the achievement which involves completing an advanced run through using just Infernos and boy is it hard as they are useless against shielded aliens - mind you I was trying the harder levels ... on one of the earlier levels it'd be possible but where's the challenge in that ;)
 
Not hugely fond of the mouse controls I have to say, but all in all its good fun.

Is there anywhere that details the interest gained from cores/second?
