Dehydrating with The_blue - Easy beef Jerky

I've never tried beef jerky, but I'm a big fan of salty meats like chorizo with beer, so I'll probably give this a go.

In fact drinking a beer right now and you're making me hungry.

How important is the meat cut, 'cos some joints are quite marbled, others less so.

Erm... Its not such an issue with marbled meats. If you off to asda etc try one of the vac packed roasting joints. The point to be made is that you don't want to waste money on tender cuts as the chewyness is part of the eating.

The butchers shop is always going to be the best option.

Brainstorm!!!!

Try braising steak packs!!! :) Nothing stopping you cutting them up or even bashing them out thin.

Yeah they're comparable in price to a full joint. That might be easier way of making them - put inbetween some cling film and batter them with a rolling pin.

Darn this thread to much cooking to do and not enough space or equipment. can't wait till I can afford a house and get a proper size kitchen and a garden.
