Yep, all cards (3850 & 3870) listed have Call of Juarez listed which may go some way to explaining why the price has been bumped up a bit?

It's so ridiculous, I wish they would just ship card in box & knock the price down.

If I want to buy 4 cards... i'll get 4 copies of call of juarez - how stupid.

In all honesty an HD 3870 or 8800 GT is not hugely quicker than a 2900XT, not much in it at all to be honest. If you want a good boost then get an 8800 GTX or wait until the new high-end stuff in Jan/Feb.

But isn't the GT the same as GTX speeds when overclocked? At least that's what i've heard.

The 8800gt with the pre-overclocked coreww to 700mhz are faster than the GTX

Ya see there is a problem when it comes to the testing mate we still have the 7.10 drivers and are still awaiting the 7.11's so we can get good Crysis performance and an overall boost!
I will give it a good going over when the said card is in said hands

Excuses, excuses...... how about WIC, COH, Oblivion, and so many other games?

Anyway, establishing a baseline level pre-7.11 will give an idea about how much extra can be wrung out of the card by driver optimisations.

OCing is the important one for many of us..... the HD2900 has a well documented OCing range, whether the smaller proccess means higher clocks are obtainable is an importand question, especialy given the larger temp headroom avaliable.

Also, info on the 3rd party cooler compatibility..... not heard a single word on this so far!

Stock for stock 8800 GT vs 8800 GTX the GTX is faster especially for 24" and 30" monitor users.

Overclock an 8800 GT then you can get it performing close too or around GTX levels, but same goes for these HD 3870 when clocked in certain games.

However if you want to talk overclocking, then lets be fair, just overclock the GTX and its pulls away from both the 8800 GT and HD 3870. Afterall overclocked GTX is quicker than a stock Ultra, until you over the Ultra and so on......

Yeah I know those games are available did you not see my review of the HD2900pro? lol! I gave a pretty comprehensive benchmark there! Good thing is however I can compare the two with each other!

That'd be good, with the release of the new cards the 2nd hand value of the 2900s must be dropping like a stone

Please, i'm not saying you cant write a good and thorough interview, i was just trying to be a bit sarcastic to cover my mild jelousy

I really wish i had the money to pre-order for a change, rather than waiting for prices to drop, or getting stuff 2nd hand. Maybe some time, but sadly not at the moment.
