I think he still holds the record for fastest Fwd car in the uk. Someone rearended his car so he welded and rebuilt the rear end single handed, the guy got skills.

They were always the fastest of the old MGs

dad had a couple of those, not the turbo one tho. one was an early 86 with over 100k, the other an 89 with ~50k. the 86 was bloody fast, i remember the speedo going WAY past its max of 130mph, looked like over 140 and it was still accelerating :eek: ofc it would have been overeading like any other car does, but thats still 130ish and wanting to do more!
the 89 one was abit of a lamer, dunno why, nothing seemed wrong with the engine in it and it was low mileage, maybe a naff gearbox ratio :confused:

both of em got nicked from a busy town high street lol
