But it's a Maestro...
Why god why!

Because maestros are faster than the golfs of their era.....
Plus cheap and easy to work on makes it an ideal car to thrash around a track as fixxing one is not so much of a time or cost issue - dad used to be in a team who raced one and my god did it own :)

interesting toy, what kind of turbos have you go on there? and what kind of inlet manifold?
only asking cause the only car i knew that ran twin su's with a turbo was a metro turbo.

No production Metro Turbo was fitted with twin su's

Nice project, though seems like a lot of work to get that power out of the O series. Was there a good reason not to go for a T series conversion?

Sorry but you are just plain wrong
I don't think he is you know, a mate of mine had 3 of these in various states of disrepair and another friend's father was an enthusiast owner and I'm sure all were single SU carbs.

Thats what James was saying, that twin carbs were never fitted to the Metro Turbo (or ANY A-Series Metro come to that).

This is coming from the guy who is looking for ideas on how to mod an old Saab? :o

I couldn't agree more with this point, I just really couldn't be bothered posting it.

Looks good ratface. Would love to have the time, money and knowledge to do something similar.

I;m very jealous, very nice. Your going to have so much fun in that nipping by more expensive machinery. :)

Must.. get... track.. car...

Could be worse. Could be a Montego ;)

Looks sweet (apart from the lights), and I bet it shifts and would more than surprise any naysayers.

Nice work!
