How the hell does it work? I can see it in an established context (computerised for example) but it seems pretty hard to run at a student bar o.o

Student bars probably make more money than most pubs, or at least more custom so probably easier to do in an SU bar than a normal pub.

Think it's just attached to the tills, automated and then the prices come up on a board at the back.

They are good fun, we never went along especially for it but would always seem to get there and go "ohhh yeah". Some drinks are excluded from it but if your up for anything its a good way of trying drinks you wouldnt normally order.

I remember at ours a cup of tea would sit at 10p all night as no one was ordering it.

It's good fun for the students but a complete scam. :D They've used it a few times where I work and the crashes are entirely pre-programmed by the staff to get rid of whatever stock they have too much of or is close to the use-by date. I guess it's win-win though really since a lot of students will take anything cheap that will get them drunk.

It is a good game, they do it at uni but seems a bit naff as someelse said, only time I really
enjoyed this was on a ski season, If you got the timing right you could get a bottle of toffe
vodka or something else for pretty cheap (in ski season standards)

Some people just don't get the game though, a pint would go up to 10 euros and a half pint
would still be like 3.50 euros. Shudder ski season prices :(
