Got to say that Peter Jackson just doesn't cut it as a hobbit any more. Ever since his mega diet and laser eye surgery he doesn't fit the role. Back in Lord of the Rings he would have fitted right into Hobbiton but now he looks too cool!

Has a giant grin on my face for the whole of that :)

I always loved watching the featurettes on the LOTR discs, it sort of makes me sad that some of the cast can't be in the Hobbit as it will feel like people are missing from the behind the scenes, especially Viggo and the four hobbits.

The appendices really were their own entity in the dvd releases. You could really see how much time and effort went into those films, and overall, how much fun it was to make them.

That video was very nostalgic, really looking forward to this, i know it's going to be great.

Working vid:

It's amazing how british this film is getting - bilbo, gandalf, gollum, quite a few of the dwarves - e.g. guy from spooks, guy from being human. Stephen Fry, The list goes on and on...

The Hobbit confirmed as 2 films, released December 2011 and December 2012.

The Hobbit: The Unexpected Journey
The Hobbit: There and Back Again.

Confirmed acting talent:

Orlando Bloom as Legolas the elf
Ian McKellen as Gandalf
Andy Serkis as Gollum
Hugo Weaving as Elrond
Cate Blanchett as Galadriel
Christopher Lee as Saruman
Ian Holm as the elder Bilbo
Elijah Wood as Frodo
Martin Freeman as hobbit Bilbo Baggins
Spooks's Richard Armitage as dwarf leader Thorin Oakenshield
Stephen Fry as the Master of Laketown
James Nesbitt as dwarf Bofur.

Stephen Fry and James Nesbitt! Totally makes up for splitting it into two movies. I really enjoy Jackson's work but for the love of all that is holy, is there seriously any need?

It's been leaked by Freeman that Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock in the awesome Sherlock) will be in the film, not confirmed who he'll be playing though.

great news they've been able to keep the same actors. will be interesting to see how much younger they can make frodo look now he's older. also glad they're splitting it into 2 as i love these films so the more the better
