It will be a long wait because Part 1 (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey) is expected in December 2012 and Part 2 (The Hobbit: There and Back Again) in December 2013.

Watched video 4 this morning and wow!! Need to watch the other 3 now, because the work and effort they are all putting into this seems outstanding!

After watching video 4 I'm so excited for this right now, I think it was the music in the background that brought back all the memories from LotR that did it.

As mentioned above I think this will be awesome in 3D due to the way they are doing it, also give me a TV that can do 5K already! :P

You all seem to forget that Bilbo hands over "There and Back Again" to Frodo for him to finish who subsequently gives it to Samwise Gamgee when he leaves at the end of LOTR.

I'm amazed that people are being so nit picky over Peter Jacksons handling of LOTR, I think he was deeply respectful of the material and did it justice as he will the Hobbit.

hear hear :)

I think hats off to the man for pulling off the lord of the rings films, and pushing to get this one through.

Lets face it, if mgm went down, we may not have seen this film in the version of middle earth peter jackson has created. I think he's doing a great job and I can't wait for this to come out!!!!!!!

Looks as good as LOTR. Its as if they were all made at the same time type of look - which is good for the continuity. I was expecting the effects and colour tone to take a drastic shift from LOTR but it doesn't seem to have.

Let's hope its as good as the book and his work with LOTR.

Really looking forward to this, The LOTR trilogy are easily my most watched fantasy films, Jacko really knows how to capture the spirit/passion of Tolkiens work and adapt it to film, so glad he got the directors role in the end after it inititally looked as though he wouldn't be involved due to all the legal crap that was going on.

Also hope we get a 4hr + extended edition blu ray with enough extras to fill the Mines Of Moria!

Just watched the trailer and I'm quite impressed! It seems to take the same tone and atmosphere as LoTR which is a good start :)
