actually i do would serve our goverment and nato/un right for not sticking to the resolution like they should be
the rebel leader obviously prays many times a day... you dont get that mark on your forehead without it.

expect religios law to dominate the country if the rebels , doubt they will want to talk with the western leaders once they dont require all the equipment and airpower either

I don't understand what your point is? I've met many Muslims who have a mark on their forehead from touching the floor with it, what's the problem in that? As for religious law dominating a country, perhaps we ought to delve into the history and deve, lopment of our judiciary system then, much of it can be attributed to Religion.

LMAO so today the rebels are asking the west for a $2 billion loan, lets sum this up:

We have stuck our nose into another countries civil war for no good reason.
We have frozen all the international bank accounts of the government and imposed trade embargo's.
We have acted as the rebels air force, bombing loyalist targets first under the guise of a no fly zone and currently under the guise of protecting civilians.
We announced yesterday that although we cannot give the rebels weapons its ok to give them British body armour (something we didn't give our own troops in Iraq properly)
We are now considering giving the rebels money to buy weapons to use against loyalist forces.

Our government makes me laugh sometimes, like somebody once said bombing for peace is like fornicating for virginity...

Cameron has promised 1000 sets of body armour for the rebels. It is just a shame various governments couldn't find them for our own troops.

Utterly, utterly disregardful and a shameful insult to our troops.

you missed this from a skynews report
Meanwhile rebel leadership said in a tweet: "We're discussing weapons deals with countries that officially recognised the council; we've been getting positive replies."

doesnt alter the fact very near the start the journalists were commenting on the brand new looking ak47's the rebels had got from somewhere...

i think all the organised rebel soldiers you know the ones in uniform arent really trained soldiers at all i expect a nato country most likely france or britain gave them a bunch of army gear so they look almost like a real military force because it looks better if your suporting what apears to be a proper military force rather than a bunch of unorganised chaotic rebels.

also we have all saw the brand new looking clearly american made rockets the rebels are firing.

wierd because pretty much all of the weapons in the country should be russian...

i see hilary clinton is banging on about gaddafi "mercenaries" firing mortars into "residential areas" a nice choice of wording because its pretty obvious any civilians in miserata got out of the way along time ago

She added that coalition troops would work to stop all attacks on civilians, under Nato's command.

The Libyan regime had reportedly destroyed crucial food supply warehouses and cut off water and power to the rebel-held city of Misrata in an attempt to starve civilians into submission, Ms Clinton said in a statement on Wednesday.

She added that "thousands of civilians are being forced out of their homes by regime attacks with tanks and artillery".

she makes it sound look coalition troops are going to be on the ground at some point or it is just me?
and i think she will find thousands of civilians are beeing forced out of their homes by rebels from benghazzi because thats pretty much where the rebels all came from lets not forget how they moved from benghazi towards tripoli.... it was them who turned a bunch of cities into warzones and no one condeoms the rebels blindly firing US made rockets into cities behind gaddafi frontlines.....

benghazzi population is aparently 50% egyptian and i belive that seeing as its right neare the egyptian border, tripoli is where the majorit of the country is and acording to sky news reporters the city is carrying on as if there is no rebel uprising.

i am fairly confident if elections were held today gaddafi would get the most votes, the rebels are clearly a small minority they dont even have many fighters... we never see more than a few hundred at ajdabiya.... lol you really ever only see about 50 vehicles in total flying down the motorway when gaddafis forces counter attack.

they have no hope of taking the country suporting them is whats making the civilians suffer

I know what you mean about the AK's while the AK-47, AKM and AK-74 all had wooden stocks/butts the AK-103 is distinguishable by its all black look and ive seen a lot of pictures of rebels wielding them (that gun was introduced in 1994, while a trade embargo against Libya was in force)

Not one air strike has been carried out by a member of the Arab League.

Probably can’t be trusted to hit the right target. ;):D Their presence is probably just a token gesture. Did anyone think that they would get really involved? I doubt it.

Obvious question but why haven't seen any evidence of these atrocities? Russia used their spy satellite to rubbish claims by the BBC and rebels of a town been nearly flattened by Gaddafi. We see videos of our planes striking tanks but none of civilians/cities/towns been taken out or what exactly Gaddafi's troops are up to. All we get is Hildog saying "In recent days, we have received disturbing reports of renewed atrocities conducted by Gaddafi's forces"

Rice and Powell were happy enough to make up [or at least present it] the evidence of mobile chemical war factories/WMDs and sophisticated underground complexes (with air conditioning I believe) regarding Saddam and the Taliban respectively. Don't get me wrong - I don't for one second believe civilians haven't been killed by Gaddafi's troops but should we not expect a little more than some protestors getting shot and 'reports' Hildog has heard?

The rebels currently claim 10,000 have died and up to 20,000 are missing.

all of the misurata claims seem to be from the rebels who havent exactly been honest with anyone so far they just tell the western anti gaddafi forces what they want to hear.

how come when you see the misurata footage showing all the holes from battles in the walls of buildings etc you never see any civilians?

i suspect its because they already left the areas where fighting is taking place and the only people in the areas are gaddafi forces and rebels.

same with ajdabiya the rebels are always going on about civlians beeing mortared and stuff but then you see the sky news reporters telling you all of the civilians have already left !

the anti gaddafi nato countries are treating the rebels as if they are civilians when it suits them

if civilians were reallly beeing slaughted like the uk/france etc claim they would have shown evidence captured with planes or drones so far they havent shown anything

lol check out how biased the BBC are...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-13086858

a video of gaddafi sticking out the top of a vehicle in a motorcade fist pumping the air.

take not of all of the people who are along the sides of some parts of the road that fist pump back to him , now listen so the bbc news guy saying "gaddafi fist pumping with not many people responding to it"

you couldnt make this up! the bbc are as bad as the iraqi inteligence bloke

lol sky news posted a different part of the video showing hundreds of people running alongside in suport at one point during the video.....

BBC are truly pathetic , ive noticed the bbc always claim the pro gaddafi demonstrations are always setup for the media aswell... no other channels seem to

These are old sets of body armour, our troops in Afganistan have the latest equipment, hardly an insult, a good way to get rid of old stock. If the money's coiming out of the aid budget to fund the MOD kit, even better.

Im sure i just saw a news article talking up how we need more planes in Libya? Eh? i dont get it, the libyans havent gotten a plane off the ground for what a week maybe longer, why would we need more plans to enforce something that has been enforced like an absolute smack down?

because they arent trying to enforce a no fly zone they are bombing the crap out of any gaddafi forces that move.

i question the legality of it tbh the majority of the stuff they bomb was no risk to civilians and if that was the reason why do they let the rebels fire rockets into brega?

I just heard a comment on Question Time which really sums up the hypocrisy of the action in Libya.

In Iraq and Afghanistan we are fighting an insurgency, in Libya we are supporting the rebels.

hypocrisy |hiˈpäkrisē|
noun ( pl. -sies)
the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not confore.

I'd say the moral standard was the same in all three, actually.
