It's obvious another HL game is in the works, it won't be Episode 3 because they've said many times the Episodic model hasn't worked out. They've also said they've been working on the next version of the source engine

From reading the Steam forums, it seems they've got some fixing to do.
 
Thread of the week: 10/10 would read again until next week where their will be another circle jerk ridden, completely delusional thread about a game thats probably not even in development.....just let it drop, hl3 wont be the saviour of gaming and i will never understand why it generates this massive amount of retardery.
 
Personally I think they are waiting on their Steam Box to be released and HL3 will be exclusively on that for a short time. If this is not the case then I can't see what the hold up is unless Gabe has eaten way too much and used all of their money up ! ;)

Every time someone makes a "Gabe is fat" joke, HL3 gets delayed by another month.
 
Man... since HL2 EP2 came and went I've gone through uni, graduated, got a job, started a career, created my own business, met my wife, had 2 kids, numerous family members have been through major events... There are still some warm embers there but my interest is severely waning I have to say. It's just too long ago. I'll buy it and play it when it comes out but at this rate if they don't hurry up I'm probably going to have grown out of video games entirely.
 
I've been a solid fan of the Half Life franchise ever since the days the original Half Life came out. Even today its still a decent game to play. Both Half Life 1 and 2 were groundbreaking games.

But yeah. It honestly feels like I'm going to be drawing a pension before this game hits the shelves :(
 
I honestly don't think it'll ever come out. Whatever work that may have been done on it have long since been shelved imo. The hype/mythos surrounding it is so much bigger than anything they could ever hope to release I think they realise that it'd only ever be a disappointment to reviewers, and they know it.
 
I think we will hear about HL3 when they finally decide to release source2, which in turn will probably be announced when they reveal the Steambox..
