deleting system files?

I know it should never be done but system files are always kept in the windows file aren't they?

I have something installed directly on my C drive and it's a bunch of system files with numbers and letters only - no words apart from one file says graphics!

would i be ok to take ownership of the file and delete do you reckon?

i've got a feeling its a virus or similar as i've got Zonealarm, Adaware and spybot running...

the long number is the file - the 1025, 1030 etc are the subdirectories.
the files:
eula
localizeddata
setupresouces.dll
are in every one of those subdirectoris.

only one thats different is the graphics directory which has loads of icons.

make sense?

That's one dodgy mac for it to choose that for auto correct . Didn't VCREDIST used to put install files directly on C: too, at one point. Used to be annoying as it didnt clean up after itself!

Yes I remember that. VCREDIST was part if MSN installer IIRC.
