Delidding Q's

I get where yer coming from mate. I don't upgrade CPU's very often so i try and enjoy overclocking when i get a new chip but it can be tedious at times like ya say.

How the hell have we gotten from Gerard' question to all this Intel bashing, yes it's bad shouldn't have to delid but it is what it is, don't buy Intel "problem" fixed, I don't like having to delid to decrease temps but it is how it is.

Now for Gerard' question, the best way to do it from what I've heard is to put it onto the die and spread it equally being careful to not cover anything other than the die, if you do it might short killing the CPU, do the same to the lid cover it where the die and lid meet and I think you can call it a day.

Another tip that I didn't realise - if you spill any, just suck it up with a syringe (my Thermal Grizzly liquid metal came with one). Wiping it with anything will make more of a mess.
