Err, not necessarily.

"The quote from the member of staff at Dell: Due to a Dell internal process change many of the 2408's that will ship new with the revised firmware will have a different part number and not a different revision number. The only way you will be able to tell if it's the revised firmware is to check the sharpness setting, if the setting is in multiples of 10 then it is the revised firmware if it's in multiples of 25 then it's not. The part number has nothing to do with the revision but someone decided since we are changing the part number anyway the firmware will be A00 on that part number."

They really need to hurry up with this as I am getting sick of waiting, im going to email dell now and find out what the chances are of getting a newer screen if I order now.

I'm starting to sway towards the Hazro now. Not sure about the 24" glossy screen though, might have to get the 26", and wall mounting it seams a bit 'silly'..... They don't make it easy do they!?

Indeed they dont, its a shame my desk faces my window as well so im going to have the light bouncing off it all over the place

Get yourself the Hazro 24".

There is a lot of ney saying on the "any word on the Hazro update" thread but several people have made some long, calm and well thought out posts essentially stating that the banding issue is not real world and only shows up in artificial tests.

if you stop trying to find it you wont find it.

as for the glossy screen - the laptop im using right now has a screen like a mirror on it, its that glossy. With that said I can use it on the train right by the window and it makes all colours look very vibrant and nice.

In a normally lit room i sometimes catch a cieling light in the screen - but its cos its a laptop and you need to tilt the screen back due to itbeing so close (attached to the keyboard). you wont need to do this with the hazro and it will thus be flat and pick up far less refections.

all in all the glossy is nice and i dont have an issue at all from using my glossy laptop screen. which is why im buying a 24" hazro tomorrow.

Dam
