Totally agree with that, i just want to confirm its going to be good for image editing as this will be its primary use if i buy one. I havent come across many reviews where it mentions the info i need, or any user reviews for that matter?
Can anyone help me out while the offers still on ?
My 2709 arrived over the weekend, great monitor if only for one thing...I seam to be having some rather annoying backlight bleed from the two top corners.
This is taken in a completly dark room:
Someone tell me this isn't normalIts almost like having two spotlights shining down on the screen, which can be really noticable when watching movies that have black bars at the top and bottom!
Has anyone else got this problem?
Got mine two days ago , and it has more or less the same issue.Czech Republic made.This backlight bleeding is also reported several times on HardForum.
I have to say that it s barely visible on a dark screen when there is an ambient light in the room.So i don t think i 'll ask for an exchange .
Wzd , any improvment on your side after some use ?

After few days of usage here are my impressions.
As predicted ,its over saturated out of the box , especially red tints.
After using a calibration profile ,overall image quality is then good , crisp and sharp.
Dot pitch is perfect size at 70cm.
Built quality is very good for the stand , and just average for the screen itself :all plastic.
As mentionned above there are backlight issues.
They are repported by all A01 users i ' ve asked about.
So if you decide to go with it , you 'll have to live with it.( unless improvement after some time).
With a white background , some dark shades are visible on few millimeters on all 4 monitor sides.
Overall color uniformity is ok , BUT viewing angle does have an impact on it.
Not a particular issue of this monitor , but a PVA technolgy one.
It is noticeable on white and light grey .
There is also an annoying shade shift on dark tints depending of the horizontal viewing angle.
Input lag IS perceptible in such basic usage as moving mouse pointer on the desktop.On the DVI port ,I 've mesured it to an average of 42 ms compared to a viewsonic vx912 LCD.
That's my main concern about this monitor and i don't like the sluggish feel as a result.
I 'll test it on the HDMI port as soon as i 'll get an adaptator for my GC.
Anyway , hardcore gamers , or even concerned users should try to find something else.
To sum up my experience with LCD displays : TN panels really suck , PVA panels are acceptable. I don t have tried IPS yet.
I rate this monitor as average.

I've just bought this monitor and I'm very pleased with it. It's a lovely upgrade from my 20" 4:3 Iiyama. I have the back light bleed, but as I never use the monitor in the dark, I never see it so it's not a problem. If there is any lag using my mouse on the desktop, I don't notice it. Colours were very red and I've settled on the Adobe RGB preset for the time being which seems to give me a more pleasing saturation of colours. I have a lot to learn about monitor calibration so it will be a while before I can get it set up better. I also love the touch sensitive menu buttons. I was wary after reading other people's bad reports, but my buttons work really well and are quite responsive. I was worried that the monitor would be too big but it's the perfect size for the resolution and my eyesight. I can now have my monitor pushed to the back of my desk and still read it quite easily without having to slump forward.
However, I have a couple of problems. First is that my monitor is not completely level. There is a difference of four millimeters in height above my desk between each side of the monitor. Is there a way I could rectify this myself?
The other problem is that I entered my service tag on the Dell warranty information site and found that the warranty expires in 2 years and 11 months which is much less than the promised 4 years on Overclockers website. I've contacted Overclockers who have suggested that I contact Dell which I will do so on Monday, but I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue and how easily it was resolved.

Glad to hear the input lag isn't something "everyone" can notice - let us know how you feel about it in another week or so as I am looking to grab one of these in the new year!
I spoke to Dell about the four year warranty and they know nothing about it. I called Overclockers and it turns out that there is no four year warranty, just the three warranty (less one month because the warranty starts when they as a reseller get it from Dell). Overclockers offered me a full refund, but as I wanted to keep the monitor, they've given me back £30 + VAT. They are going to change their website.
I'm still not sure what to do about the monitor not being completely horizontal. The problem is made worse by the shelf directly above it. I really don't want to go through the hassle of getting it sent back to Overclockers and waiting for them to send me a new one. I don't want to go back to my 20" even for a few days. However, I don't notice it when I'm using the monitor. I'm going to have to think about it. Anyone elses monitor not quite straight?

hi I got the 2709w and I couldn't be happier!
It's a really-really good and massive screen!
I am not an extreme gamer but I play the usual games every now and then and I haven't noticed any input lag whatsoever. I guess it depends on how hardcore you are on games. I'm not so it doesn't bother me and I don't notice it as such.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a monitor for casual office applications and a bit of gaming as well. The price difference is very small compared to the other Dell 24'' and it's def. worth it.

its been a while mate, im after another monitor perferabbly this one, ive been out of touch for a while so no idea whats going on with these things anymore.
i,m after a monitor primarly for text and 2 design to be linked with my labtop which has vga and hdmi. i want to use the monitor as an extended screen at full res.
now i know with della in the past they always had problems and they were addressed in revisions, is this case here?
is there a rev i need to get preferabbly from ocuk?
any feedback on this would be very appreciated as i need one asap?
other features are a welcome too.

However there is a problem .. I have a red line dead centre running down the screen i havnt calibrated the screen i was under the impression its done automatically ive tried swapping DVI 1&2 and had a fiddle with the menu settings, anyone shed any light

I bought this monitor last week sometime and have left it until now to connect my playstation to it. I have a PS2 but am in the process of finding a nice price to upgrade to a PS3.
The problem I have is that when I connect the PS2 through Component, theres no sound? The monitor has the 5.1ch sound sockets output and I have tried through them and still it doesn't work. I have Creative 7.1 speakers which are currently connected to my PC. Is there any way that I can switch between Component (for PS2) and DVI (for PC) and have sound working on both?
Any help would be appreciated.
