Dell U2913WM

Will do some more pics of the screen and some gameshots in a bit, not likely to look so hot with a naff camera but will give it a go :)

Hey man I have one of these arriving sometime in the next hour, you mind if I post my pics in here too? not trying to thread jack or anything.

--- EDIT ---

Well assuming TTB's okay with me putting my pics in his thread here's a couple.

Firstly the box next to a chair so you can see how small it really is for a 29" monitor box:

Then secondly a shot of it next to my 23" LG IPS screen, having looked at the dimensions I already knew this would be the case, the panel is the exact same size (the bezels may be different but in that pic the top/bottom of the panels are perfectly aligned to within a mm) except 133.33% the width, just what the doctor ordered :)

Nice purchase ubersonic :)

Would be interesting to hear your thoughts on it once the excitement wears off :D

Okay been using this all night now so my thoughts so far: firstly I'm very happy, I was looking forward to this monitors release (before I saw the launch price :P) since its announcement as it ticked every box for me, dell warranty, LG panel, the same dimensions as my 23" LG IPS but 33.33% wider (I previously owned a 2011 iMac and didn't get on with the height of the screen so this was a godsend for me).

Right having said I love it ill mention a few cool things, the height is fully adjustable and while that may sound obvious this screen basically lets me lower it until the bezel hits the desk, I have never had a monitor that adjustable before. Next the hub is USB 3.0 which is in the specs but as it let me copy files from a connected HDD at over 100MB/s its worth noting that the hub doesn't slack either (I may mean Mbit/s there, whichever sounds right).

Next on the list of what to tell people, well it comes with a DVI-D cable, and it requires it as it can only display up to 1920x1080 via a standard DVI cable, which means if your like me and try to save time by just plugging in the power/DVI from your old monitor to save time fiddling with cable management it wont work, and will instead give 1280x1080 (dropping every other vertical line from the 2560 lol). Once I realised the issue I used the displayport cable that comes with it and all was plug and play :)

One tidbit of advice to buyers, when you get it, use the menu to navigate to "Display settings > Smart Video Enhance >" and make sure its set to "off", mine came set to "movie" by default and as far as I can work out this is a function to randomly switch the screen between "warm" and "cold" gamma settings while your gaming or browsing the web :P

Bluerays look stunning, WoW, Borderlands 2, Rage, Guildwars 2, Diablo III and even Supreme Commander Forged Alliance look stunning (and the extra aspect lets you see further to the side on D3 lol), Minecraft looks like Minecraft. I have loads of room for icons on the taskbar (bout 35 by my guess), the is room for 8 columns of two tiles in metro with spacing between them.

All in all very satisfied thus far :)

I want one of these tony.
I hopefully will buy yours for much cheapness when your excitement wears off sir :-)
seriously though it looks awesome

I see what you did there :D

Guess this will be a decent monitor for movies?

although you lose some height..

Its a very decent monitor for video playback, I came from a dellu2711 and although I am not the most tech savvy person on these forums even I would say its an improvement overall :)
