Set in a magical world where gods walk among mortals, Demigod blends action, strategy and role-playing elements into a thrilling new experience. Select the Demigod that will lead your minions into battle and unleash the dogs of war against your rivals. Your Demigod will do whatever it takes in order to ascend to true godhood.

Once in the Arena, each Demigod will be joined by support troops that fight to the death as you struggle to seize key control points and slowly turn the tide of war in your favor. And your Demigod will level up during the course of each battle, becoming even more powerful as you unlock new abilities and powers. It's a brutal conflict of Demigod versus Demigod, where the very ground beneath their feet will tremble and quake.

I never quite understand why they can't release everything at around the same date. What reason could they possibly have for delaying the release over here by over a month?

Back on topic, looks like a great game. May have to buy it, if the reviews sound good.

As far as I'm aware this game is meant to be more like DotA and less like SupCom. Might be worth keeping in mind if you're looking at it.

(It's a good thing imo, others might not agree)

I'm looking forwards to this. Big fan of Sup Com and this looks fun too. Once its finished it also means Chris Taylor will begin work on SupCom 2 properly? All in all Looking good.

I'm appalled at the release date delay. It'll encourage European Pirates.

Little OT, but have demos over the past year or so been scarce? i remember downloading a decent demo every few weeks years back

I think the release date difference may just be for store shelves? Orders through Impulse should go ahead on the 14th.

I've been beta testing it for a while, and love it, though I never really got into DotA. Its a good fun game, though I never really played online with it (There were a load of problems, though they've been cleared up now).

Is it strategy game like C&C, Supreme Commander?

Not really. If you played any Warcraft 3, its very similar to the Defense of the Ancients (DotA) mod. Essentially, each player only has one unit, that you customize with skills and different equipment.
Each team has a base with a citadel to defend. Creeps (little AI monsters) spawn in regular groups, run from each base, meet somewhere in the middle and kill each other. You go in killing the creeps, the other demigod, and try and turn the tide to win. I'm not sure how many demigods are going to be in the release, but each one has a different playstyle, and so on. There's flags to capture in the map to earn more exp/gold or to increase your health, or control another creep spawn point.

Its fast paced, games are usually over fairly quickly, but its good fun.
