So... I ordered a B8 shock from this company and they advertised it as having "fitment marks".
Upon clarification they informed me that they came off a car of which they were fitted too but never driven on....
Ok Great 1/2 price bargain i thought.
It arrives and they have only gone and sent a B6 with fitment marks...
I was stuck, car was on stands, old shock dead and in bin so i had to fit it and be happy with it (after all a B6 and B8 have same valving and only the B8 has a shorter piston for 30+mm lowering springs).
I then find that the B6 rebound is TERRIBLE, absolute shocking (pardon the pun).. The B8 on the left is solid, the B6 is bouncy as ****.
I call them to inform them of their mistake and also that when fitted its actually shot... they inform me that because i have driven (around the block) its now classed as driven on and used and their return policy excludes that.
They seem to ignore the fact it was already 'used for a moment to test' and sold with 'minor fitment marks' hence already driven on and having fitment marks and are adamant it has to be sent to bilstein for testing and repair / replacement. I must also mention that these 'fitment marks' actually look like extensive use marks to me and the fact its so bouncy leads me to conclude its have been used extensivly.
Seriously? What are these people on?
The shock absorber is not fit for its job, its been miss sold and is useless.
I ended up buying a new B8 from them anyway as they offered a £40 discount over other retailers.
Im just shocked they are trying to tell me i cant have a refund because its been used when it was already used in the first place! Oh and they sent the wrong one -.-
