demon tweaks... what...

You obviously dont understand the difference between The B6 and B8 shocks then do you.

Exact same damping forces, same valving. the B8 has a 25mm shorter throw...

Even Bilstein said it was fine as my springs were within its tolerances.

The problem is... its not "fitment marks only" its "5 years old and heavily used"

So you reckon a used & abused shock will have the same tension as a "fitment marks only" shock?

Good luck with that.

Maybe you would have more joy going via your credit card company? Seems like all avenues with the original retailer have now been exhausted.

Why would you fit them if they were wrong? You've just borked yourself out of getting anything back.

Here's some tips for working on cars:
a) If the car is your main car, do jobs that you are certain you can finish within a short period of time
b) NEVER throw anything/old parts until the job is completed and you are satisfied.
c) Hardly any car parts suppliers will return anything if it's been fitted.
d) Always have a plan B for transportation if the job really can't be completed.
e) Use common sense

f) buy a real MPS instead

I know it's a hobby to knock Diagro in motors but lets ignore the fact that it was the wrong part supplied in the first place because it makes no difference to whether it should function properly or not, the supplied part is not functioning correctly even though the manufacturer confirms it should not be an issue, therefore he was supplied a faulty part and it should be dealt with as such by the supplier.

The fact it has been fitted to his car and used before being found to be faulty makes no difference, if I used my brand new TV for 5 minutes and then it went pop no one would be arguing over a refund/replacement there would they?

Woah, weird coincidence!!

I saw the demon tweeks title and as I'd recently ordered from them I clicked to see what the story was all about. You were then talking about having ordered a single B8 from them.

That's exactly what I ordered just last week. But a brand new one.

To be honest, I'm not entirely happy with them. They said the price was £96.22. I gave them my card details and agreed that they could take £96.22 but they've actually taken £108.22 which includes an additional £12 delivery charge.

Not sure that's even legal?

Yea I did.
But that still doesn't get them out of miss selling it surely? It is shot anyway.

I would bet my bottom dolla that it isn't shot. A friend took some bilstein shocks (The OE shock is provided by Bilstein and is basically an b8) off of his mk2 996 with 150k on it had them put on a testing machine at Center of mavity, they were absolutely fine passing all the tests. They were from around 2001 and had seen about 150k.

Thats naughty.

I just this moment had a new B8 arrived from them :D
Thats going on asap and the B6 is going back with a nice letter pointing out the facts and if they disagree my CC company will become involved.
