Dentist

I have ordered the ones I linked to above, they are the ones the hygienist gave me. I have tried the TePe brushes but they weren’t as good, bent to easily.
Ah ok. Be interested in how you get on with them in the long run. Think I was expecting too much longevity out of them as they are great at what they do.

I was at my dentist the other day, heard the receptionist tell someone they are only taking on private now

That's the situation in the local area I live in and I've called every dentist here to get treatment. No chance of being taken on as an NHS patient anymore but they will let you register and they say will call you if ever they've got a slot/cancelled appointment. If you've got any serious issues or pain with your teeth where I live you have to call the national dental emergency helpline Monday-Friday 7am-3pm and they will find the nearest practice that can fit you in for a quick "botch-it/repair" job.

I have a dentist but had to use the emergency service over the weekend as my face went full chipmunk with an abscess ,£25 and they said they could whip out my canine but as a bridge attached wouldn't recommend ,so looks like route canal with my own dentist.(obviously i got antibiotics)
it demonstrated to me the inferior treatment on offer when you cant find a dentist

I've recently (in the last month) had four private dentist appointments and I'm not happy with the work. They filled in several cavities but I can still feel them when I bite down on something like an Apple. I'm not sure what to do. I had to go private because I wasn't on the books of an NHS dentist and my teeth were awful so having problems still is annoying me.

I’m lucky, didn’t go to the dentist ever as a kid or as an adult up to 47 years of age. Never really had to as never had any toothache. Got a new electric toothbrush and started taking an interest in brushing my teeth properly, I was trying to before but wasn’t doing it right.

New toothbrush guides you each time you brush with an app. Made my first appointment with a dentist in April this year, he took x-rays and said my teeth were perfect better than people he sees every three months.

Despite that I had to see the hygienist due to the calculus buildup mainly on the bottom inside of the lower teeth. Saw her just over a week ago and she removed it all. Don’t have to see her or the dentist for another year.

My teeth aren’t pearly white but they are not overly yellow either, I’m not going to get them professionally whitened that costs from £325. I’m just happy my teeth and gums are healthy. I’ve got no fillings either obviously.

Now my daily routine is brush teeth in morning guided by the app, then an hour later brush my tongue with an orabrush with some TUNG gel. Later in afternoon after eating use a water flosser followed by some TePe easy picks to get inbetween each tooth.

Then in the evening brush teeth again guided by the app. This should prevent the buildup of calculus.

I think it took about 4 weeks before I stopped noticing the last filling I had, all depends on how deep they had to go in and how irritated the nerve got.

Fillings seem to be hit and miss in terms of their effectiveness. I've known people to have them fall out minutes after leaving the dentist.

I finally got an emergency appointment this morning for this afternoon. Probably need a wisdom tooth out and a filling or maybe a root canal on a back molar. Wouldn't be surprised if other problems are picked up, as I haven't been for a long time.

I am just over my abcess after 2 weeks and route canal through a crown (yikes) due in October, this is NHS but thinking about some private cosmetic work as feeling my teeth are getting a bit discolored and front one I have ground some thickness away.

I'm still being destroyed by mine, painful in the mouth and the dual antibiotics are destroying me haha. Back on Tuesday to have another checkup/xray to see what needs to be done.
