Try being ugly, have no car and have no job. Then complain!
Seriously though... get a hobby.
I've met people through school and stayed friends with some of them, now 3 of their friends are now some of my best friends even though I don't speak to my school mates as much as i'd like to now. Also met a few people I used to work with and kept in contact with them.
Also I know people through two football teams I play for. 11 a side and 5 a side.
And finally i've met people through my photography and now I do the occasional job with them too.
Not saying do all that but seriously, get a hobby.
Even contact some friends you haven't spoke to for ages. If they are truly your friends then it'll be like you've only spoken last week or something.

you really need to go and do it...
Once you've learnt to move in time (don't worry, it comes eventually!) and you can dance the basic steps with the correct leads, she will be seriously impressed I bet. From all the women I've spoken to, the biggest complaint they have about men is if they try too many flash moves and lead them (as well as the basics) poorly. Concentrate on the basics and leading them well and you'll be well away.
