Depressed?

You're complaining about having no love life when you're off to Thailand??????????????????????????

Seriously, having no attachments is the absolute best thing you can hope for when going on a trip to Thailand.

You've clearly never been there before....

Well.. knowing GD i'll probably get flamed or told to man up etc.. but this is just a whinge i suppose.

Currently have no love life, all my mates have either moved far, in relationships or just plain not in contact anymore, have like one real friend with whom i'm going to Thailand with in August but thats about it and even he is in a relationship and lives a bit far but still we talk almost daily. I spent the last 2 years or so with my ex but am currently living back home and it feels so soul wrenching sometimes... especially at 27 , but i really want to save for a downpayment on a mortgage and renting will not allow that.

I've got a decent job, car etc.. but don't go out anywhere due to having no available mates and i find it hard to go it alone, i'm decent looking and have even tried online dating, i get interest but have actually not met anyone in real life yet. I'm kind of extremely shy as well, but once i know someone i'm very open.

Just hit me today as my parents are leaving for 3 weeks hols tomorrow, even though i'm at work most days.. its going to be a miserable time..:(

The grass is always greener, etc, etc

Believe it or not, there are plenty of guys out there who would give their right arm to be in your position. Not saying they don't love their GF/wife/whatever - but I think any guy in long-term relationship who says he doesn't occasionally miss being young, free and single is flat-out lying :)

Get out there and enjoy yourself!

You think you are sad about living at home being 27...

Try being 36, with a crap car and being a bit of an ug.. Oh and having no money... ;)

I'd go with our old friend Albert Einstein:

Albert Einstein once said "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results".

Break whatever cycle of activity is passing as normal for you, any way you can. Like many have pointed out, try something new and you may find yourself pleasantly surprised (and engaged). You will focus more on outward things and not have time to worry about self-deprecating thoughts. I find the Gym is an excellent outlet for most men, but cycling, joining an interest group whatever. Just get out there and do it.

Go and find a sport to play... If not try boxing... Focus your life on something that gets you out of the house!

For the record i was in the same boat 5 years ago, so joined an old boxing club i used to go to, forgot about finding a GF and just focused on getting fit.... then went out on a works party feeling good and content….. bought a drink for a hot girl i worked with..... 5 years later we're married with a gorgeous little 3month old girl!

Thai women (you need to check the undercarrige first to make sure that they are women) will take you to the cleaners. IF you need to go Thailand, then best to go with a gf/wife
