Depressing fact is depressing

Didn't realise anyone from OcUK was going to Crail.

Your backfiring nearly blew up my ear drums as I was standing right next to you on the line vs the GTR!

Haha sorry about that. I'm not sure what happened to the GTR at the start. I think he must have been sleeping.

i was lighting up the rear end in second with 360bhp and 255 tyres so i can understand how much of a pain that must be.

i to am running a double wishbone suspension mazda

thought about running big overfenders so you can get some decent width?

maybe get up to 255 on a 8.5in rim, that will give you much better traction.

im only 400bhp but going up 335s on the rear as like you i dont fancy destroying tyres all the time.

what does your car weigh at the moment?

There's a company that makes a 9" rim which fits with minor arch rolling and 225's, so I could maybe look at that. Otherwise, it'd be like you say - wide arch kit, which I'm not too keen on at the moment.

I meant with 320hp, 195 width T1-R's would be usless. They'll just wheelspin their hearts out and the power is impossible to put down. There's no point in that at all.

If you drive it like you stole it, sure, and making a wheel wider doesn't give you more grip, the tyre touching the road will be the same no matter what width you run, and is dictated by tyre pressure and vehicle weight.

Heavier cars run wider tyres to change the way the tyre deforms, if your car is light there is little to be gained running a wider tyre on the road.

If you expect to use that level of power at all times, then expect to eat rubber. Obvious fact is obvious. :)

This. If you're not willing to not hoon it everywhere to save yourself some money on tyres then why are you whining about how much it costs? I'm sure you are able to just back off the throttle a little. It's not hard.

Pointless thread is pointless etc.

Salami: Slightly off-topic but what did you make of that Yamaha R1-powered go-kart?

It looked like it couldn't get the power down on the strip but it went like stink; looks great fun!

I have a few ideas as to how you made it through a set of tires in 73 days, firstly....

this, :D

Oh and here is you spanking something (might be an older evo?) after about 30yards.

Seriously though your car is rather tasty and unbelievably quick, as evidenced by your timings!

Busted! TBH the tyres were already pretty gubbed before I did that.

But thanks for the pics! Got any more?

OcUk paparazzi strikes again!
I have a couple hundred from the day, assorted stuff and a bit of video (which I might post up once its all edited) but I think the rest of what I have of your car is very much more of the same. You are of course more than welcome to full res copies of everything I have should you so desire.

Forgot about this. It looked a bit mental didn't it? Ran a 12.2 I think.

It must be insane to drive so close to the ground at 100mph+

Big Kahunas
