Do any of you know any random bands that do experimental new-age stuff. Imagine a film about a man who awakens in a forest, later to find out that he was murdered there and he's a roaming ghost. If you can get that picture in your head, are there any bands or songs that spring to mind? Depressing/nervy/scary songs?

Cheers

Snow Patrol are pretty damn depressing.

How have you worked that out? Their music is emotive, but hardly depressive. a lot of their songs build up slowly to a nice atmospheric climax.

Some great suggestions.

Is there anyway I can buy Godspeed You! Black Emperor without paying £15 for 3 tracks? :D

OK as some of you guessed, I have made a film. After watching Keane's new music vid - Atlantic - I was inspired to do something similar. I think it's one of the best music videos I've seen in about 5 years in terms of origionality.

massive attack - teardrop?

That always makes me happy!

Nick Cave is pretty good for dark brooding songs.

The flip side of Kate Bush's Hounds Of Love is about a woman who dies and becomes a spirit. In Waking The Witch she's on trial and Watching You Without Me she's following her lover trying to get him to see her. It turns out to be all a dream in the end though. Phew, eh?
