I think its more telling that people jumping in this thread show no concern that a man has been lumped off to jail based on a trial and verdict of questionable safety.

Dont get me wrong, I believe he deserves his punishment, but only if the conviction is a safe one within the rule of law.

At this point I'm not convinced that is the case and was why I took such an interest in having it on most days while working.

This. My concern is that credibility of justice system is greatly diminished. There is strong evidence that justice system can be altered and bent under mob rule.

Didn’t even need a trial. I would have locked him up immediately.

You have multiple hd sources of someone killing people...do you really need a trial?

True, did he do it on purpose though or it was lack of judgement under pressure with an individual thats a lot stronger and larger with prior history?

I just don't think Chauvin was engaging in pre-mediated murder.

Don’t care if he did it on purpose. Deserves jail for being stupid enough to accidentally kill someone.

I agree - but how many times has a police officer used a similar restraint method and someone not died? How was Chauvin to know the other factors involved (health issues, level of drugs involved). There were a lot of factors that came together.

The entire trial was a farce from the get go, he was branded guilty before the jury had even been picked thanks to the state handing the family a tidy 27 million dollar payout, without even waiting for the trial. They had to justify it one way or another.

Civil cases don't rely on criminal charges and have much lower standards.

A civil case might leverage a criminal conviction but it wouldn't work the other way around.

At any rate you've oversimplified the result to "guilty" when there were 3 criminal charges.

Yea, exactly thanks for proving my point. If you're ever accused of a crime and go before Jury maybe we should print this off and hand it to them as evidence and bang you up?

Or would you like a fair trial?

Well that is why I get slightly concerned by the left wing woke crowd.... They seem to share those ideals rather too much, even soviets had 5 minute courts.

Same as wishing for him to be anally impaled in the Jail... I mean what a joy to openly admit that the jail system is a total sham.
