Descrimination on OCUK

sorry, watching the football too.

I am aware that OCUK don't advocate discrimination, It's just that with threads appearing quite regularly now, I can see many Muslims finding it a little uncomfortable on here sometimes.

Why should some one I know get turned down from the police because he's white?

Why should there be a disabled person as a secretary yet she can't do her job and has a full time council worker to do her job for her.

Why should single mums/poor people/immigrants ect get a house before us normal workers.

Why do we have large proportions of cities that are like a foreign country where you would be lucky to find some one who's fluent in English, with no integration. Ect ect

And finally, why are threads like these more suited to GD than SC?

Nah, it's basically the same principle that nearly all vehemently anti-gay people are actually gay, most of the vehemently anti-immigrant/muslim posters on here are actually subconsciously immigrants & muslims.
I hate poofs and muslims!

OMG, I am a gay muslim! :p

You often get more sensible posts in GD..

lol :D i just though that it was more suited to GD as it is something that I find happens in GD. If a mod thinks it is better to SC, then by all means, move it, but I think it's better here.

lol I wasn't referring to your posts, I was talking about the topics in AcidHell2's post. Given that the description of SC is "intelligient debate of newsworthy issues" and GD's is "Talk about anything not covered by other forums", I would argue that the anti-Muslim threads don't really belong in here

I'm pretty fed up about it too.

I'm sure the muslims on here are good contributors to society I don't know why they have to be subjected to rants and raves from the more narrow minded of people on here.

These forums are supposed to be open as "family orientated" and I certainly can't understand why posts of the old racist attitude prevalent many years ago are allowed.

Just like how many British people are finding themselves uncomfortable in their own country?

Why is anything that criticises Islam or its followers in any way "anti islam".
Why can't Islam be scrutinised just like anything else? Is it perfect or something ;)

OK then, critical of Islam or its followers. Of course that was not the point of my post.

i think its because of the people like the op that society is scared to talk about minorities. As soon as people question/critisise a minority its OMG discrimination.

Discussion on things that concern minorities is not discrimination... now if the dons banned all disabled/muslim/female/insert minority/ that would be.

People are free to openly discuss both sides of the argument.

With a few exceptions every poster on this board is an adult. The overall subject matter is not really children friendly and often the issues raised only reflect what is happening in society. If you want family fun, naff off to the My Little Pony forums or the Toys'R'Us website (whoops, competitor! :p ) and leave us to discuss whatever we want within the rules of the forums.*

* Which I have just broken. :D

It made me chuckle too, especially when it occurred to me that the most homophobic posters here tend to be muslims :)
