It's a vector based format which Photoshop and Illustrator can save to.

It needs to be Vector because it needs to be able to be resized for; letterheads, shirt logos, business cards etc.

EPS files are vector images, ie. Any size is not an issue as it's mathatical points, allowing you to blow up the image without quality loss, which will be needed.

Because it needs to be used on branding and staff uniforms etc., and raster files look like complete **** when enlarged or fiddled with.

A vector based file can be sized upo and down and be read by CNC and other type machiens and printers so no quality is lost i nthe artwork. The logo is not just for the site and forums and could potentially be made into signs etc.

because if they need to use it on the side of a Van or make it large to go above the building it needs to be vector based
