think the main logo should be silver and maybe red to match the main bit in middle and make top half look same

I would like to just say, even though i studied graphic design coporate logo stuff isnt really something i can dig because im just not that good at it. That said, im very impressed by some of the examples some people are posting and you should all be very proud of your efforts and accomplishments.

Nice to know the spirit of original design and smart thinking is atill alive and well.

ps. Maybe ocuk could consider having some sort of reference scheme for some of the non winning efforts?, Like an email or letter showing appreciation for the logo concept so that the document can be used for the artists portfolio and/or any interviews in the future?. Like i say, just a thought.

Have updated it slightly to include the required blue... have another good idea but my illustrator skills are not that of some people on the board so I'm struggling with it a bit!

I have to say some of these are very professional, I really need to get an entry in, but I want to borrow my friends drawing tablet so I can make something nicer then I normally would

Thumbs up to all who have entered.

I'm more of a fan of the minimalist entries...you don't see many 'busy' logos out there -especially for established/large business such as OcUK

Just think of some of the largest online retailers and their logo - very simple really but instantly recognisable and well known.

Just my two cents

You are exactly right, simple logo's are the key, they're easy on the eye and look great. I think that is really the way go.

Is it much cheaper to get someone to design you a logo for a £230 card than pay someone to do it professionally?

We're not forcing people to enter this competition. If they want to submit their ideas they can and have a chance of winning the card. If you feel that your time is not worth the prize then don't enter - simple as that.

At the end of the day we can go to a professional company but who's to say their ideas will be any better than some of the ideas so far.
