The Union Jack is IMO essential to the design but having it as the logo doesn't make the logo individual enough, i.e. skippi whilst your design is really good the UJ could apply to anyone or anything. This is why I think just elements of the flag should be incorporated to produce a unique and identifiable design that people could recognise as being associate dto OcUK. I'm not sure that makes sense but imagine if Morrisons, Apple, Adidas, McDonalds, etc made their logo with a union jack covering it, the individual identity of the logo would be lost

Its call OCUK... the who United Kingdom bit is kind of in the name, so including the flag seems to make sense.

There are many company's with the name UK in the name but they stay away from flags.
Don't get me wrong, I love the flag and it makes me proud but Spie has got to weigh up the pro's and con's of it.
Will it lose customers or will it bring more in?
Branding matters and I'm not expert enough to know what effect a Union Flag has on branding long term.

So let me get this straight:

Having a Union Jack in a logo is a sign of Racism now? A symbolism of racial bigotry an unnaceptance into our society? Is that what our flag means now? You people are worse than the so called "racists". Now we must fear to display our own flag? Get over yourselves.

Grrrrrrr.

I may be wrong but I never read or got that impression from any of the posts, I personally think that the flag is such a strong identity in itself that it makes it hard for you to create your own.

Yup... sick of the Union Jack, Its not good logo design either.
Its much more important for people to see a catchy logo that stands out.
The union Jack is hardly unique enough for it to be a reminder of Overclockers.Co.uk

It tends to remind me more of American and Asian tourists at Tower Bridge.
