I'm wondering if the price of a GTX is worth it. I know my brother who is a graphic designer wouldn't get out of bed for that.
I suppose it is a good price (or prize!) for an amateur but does OCUK want a logo done by an amateur and does the amateur want to see their work used to increase the profits of OCUK for the price of a GPU?
Also there is the legal issues but they have kind of been covered. I wouldn't want this to bite OCUK in the backside as I kind of have a soft spot for them...

Why would it increase their profits?
There are A LOT of very very talented individuals when it comes to graphic design that just do it for a hobby and have no interest in becoming professional. It doesn't make their work any worse than the people who get paid to do it
Its a bit of fun as well, see what everyone comes up with.
The forums have a lot of tallent so why not give them a chance to show what they can do.
If nothing comes up that we like we are not going to re-brand the whole company just take it to a professional outfit or keep the current branding.
From past results though there are usually a lot of quality entries so will see what gets posted.

Better logo = more professional image = increased profits.
It somebody wants to submit a design and is happy with the price paid then good for them. They just need to be aware of the caveats.

One of the ways I judge a site is by how professional and that includes the logo.
It surely isn't that hard to grasp?
