*** Desk and Room Gallery***

much better, would reccomend abit of a cable tidy up tho, maybe get some of those coil thingy's to hold cables together.

btw where did u get that poster from?

Picked it up at a random poster sale, I'll see if I can find the artist on the painting. Failing that, tineye may be able to help.

I used a cable management thing on the cables running below the desk (you can sort of see it, the white thing), but not sure what else I can do with the ones actually ON the desk without restricting their movement .

Those Vika Amon Tabletops with Curry legs look JUST the thing I am after for my new house! :D Been looking for something spacious that doesn't cost the earth!

What size are those 2 you have? Assuming the £25 2M tabletops?

Nah, it's the 150x75. The larger size (200x60) has a smaller width so the desk would have felt too cramped.

So in my eyes a more suitable size...and it's £5 cheaper!

Cheers! It's called Purgatory and is, as you say, Mario Wibisono's work. My copy was produced by pyramid international and I paid about £8 for it, so I'm sure it can be found somewhere at that price. If you like his work, you may also like Victoria Frances' art (some of it anyway, not to everyone's tastes and ruined a bit by the Twilight craze).

Just moved into my new place with my girlfriend and managed to secure myself a man-cave. It still needs some work with regards to cable management etc (need a slightly longer ethernet to replace that yellow one :( ), but here's the before and after:

Now:

Comments? Suggestions? I always follow this thread aiming to get a study of the same standards as I see on here, so any way I can improve what I have would be gratefully received :)

These 2 simple, cheap steps should help a lot:
  1. Screw the socket extension lead to the wall or the back of your desk
  2. Add a cable trough to the rear of your desk and hang all cables on it (google image "desk cable trough" to get an idea of what I mean)

And a few personal changes I'd make:
  • Hate the colour of the desk, a beech, black or sandy colour one would look nicer with your walls
  • Move the poster to the center of the wall/your monitor
  • Stick that photo frame on the left wall
  • Stack and pile your unused things (cd tubs, xbox controller, hdd, etc) against the left wall so your keyboard and mouse area is clear

:)

Main Box:
Imac i7 2.8 8GB ram 1TB HDD

Other items:
Cambridge Magic DAC
Samsung 30" Monitor
Samsung 40" Screen
HP 24" Screen
Fedora 12 File Server - AMD Dual Core 2GB Ram 2.6TB Space.
i7 Gaming Rig - Intel i7 2.93 6GB ram 1.5TB 280GTX SLI

Mac pro had problems, Asked for a refund stupidly & got one, £3500 back in my account & used the 17% Apple Discount from My Company to Purchase the Imac at £2090 instead of £2400 odd. I love it, but do miss the speed of the extra Internal HDD's

though most of the time it feels faster :)

hopefully looking for a new house, so hopefully if i move i'm going to setup a long desk with all 3 computers in a row. :D

Mmm I see. Good luck with the house hunting, that lot with a dedicated setup and large desk would be pure awesomeness. When I finish uni and move in somewhere I plan to do similar, though I've managed to keep it down to just 2 PCs somehow, and one sits under the TV!

I'll see if I can get a photo of my setup here later, bit more cramped than yours but I like it!

Doesn't seem very functional atm smogsy. I'm guessing its temporary as theres no way to use the gaming rig on the coffee table lol

a computer change is a little different to moving equipment around dont you think :p

if you that bothered i won't post my setup until you decide i can? :p
