*** Desk and Room Gallery***

Hi guys has anyone used this as a desk and do you think it will last or should i look for something abit more expensive ? http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S49872826

Awesome setup, I have two monitors too, Dell 2407 (main) and 2208, you've inspired me to rotate the 2208 into portrait, but how do you get a different wallpaper on the portrait monitor? :)


Thanks :). It's in landscape atm but portrait is great for word docs and web pages.


Yeah, Aj said it, Ultramon is awesome, gives a taskbar on the second screen too :).

LG PS3000 50" 1080P same screen as the PS8000 THX cert. tv got this new for £530

yamaha AX-590 proberlbly one off the most powerfull amps yamaha have ever made with 140w RMS over 4 channels this is used as a power amp with a DSP-492 as a decoder got both for less them £100

either side are Wharfedale z2000's rated at 250w RMS and the baby brother Z1000 rated at 150m RMS z2000 cost me £120 and trip to mersyside and the z1000 £35 off ebay

Creative Gigawork S750 simple the best surround sound i have ever heard got these for £180 3 years ago

my I7 rig built over 9 months ago got the i7 chip for £140 back then so i had no choice but upgrade :D only cost me £100 in total to upgrade from a 750i *** with a q6600 and 4gb kingston ram over 9 months ago was bloody bargin thats with the water cooling for the mobo as well 920 D0+Evga X58 SLI LE+EK block+6gb ocz 1866 ram spec are

I7 920 [email protected] with heat killer 3.0
Evga X58 SLI LE with Ek Block
OCZ Reaper 6gb@1866mhz
2xSparkle 275 gtx got both off these for £320 when they 1st came out off here

and my 6 year old creative P580's cost me £25 when i got them off ebay and still sound brilliant today

My HTPC which is under my main rig and housed in my 1st case from 7 years ago when i built my 1st pc when i was 13 and runs my tv speakers and gigaworks this cost me £260 in total and only £50 of my money once i had sold my old parts spec are

Asus X48 rampage formula
Intel E4500
Zalman cpns9700
2GB OCZ platinum 800mhz 4-4-4-15
Sapphire HD4870 512mb
X-Fi Xtreme Music The gold one
Thermaltake ToughPower 650w
Seagate 500gb already had 2x 200gb + 250GB WD drives and got another 250 on the way for £10inc
allfans are controlled my zalman fan mate's got 3 of the for less than £10 posted only noisey thing left is the HD4870 (which if you read my guides in the overclocking section or GFX card section you can save 40w idle off it and drop it 15 degrees and make it near silent with out even changing the cooler)

and that is all any questions iam happy to answer just wanted to show that you can have a beastly set up on a budget it took me 3 years to get this lot but mainly just good money skills :)

you must be very tight with your money of your a very good haggler :D
 
not tight i will splash out when i have not got the money if something is a good deal as you will always kick yourself when you dont take it up and think back that could have been mine, Me personally i just try to make the most of what i've got as most people do but some dont have the patience of others and as the great saying goes all good things come to thoes who wait ;)
 
Here's mine. Changed from the Cosmos Pure to the CM 690 II Advanced brilliant little case and also went to three monitors.

Picked up the new xbox on friday, looks way better than the old white console imo. Nice and shiny. :p Only problem is that it's a real dust magnet.

here is one of mine.few things i wanna do yet including fix my other desktop pc (gfx died in it) and get the one im currently using back on my tv for films n the like
