*** Desk and Room Gallery***

I used to work at Ikea and I've seen all the desks and how durable they are and such things. That desks is adequate for a monitor / speakers / usual desk items. Be careful with a heavy case and never sit on it or use it to put your weight on, it wont break or snap but if its quite heavy it may cause it to bend and thus crack somewhat weakening it.

Thanks very much for the tip. I was thinking of buying it but I wont now as I doubt it will take my case and two monitors.

My humble hideaway from the other half.

Hey, whats the cable management you've got for the speakers on the wall?
Looks good! :D

I meant its perfect lol.

Heh, thanks matey :)

OOOH! what speakers are they? very retro looking.

Ah yes, I've had them from new since, well, must be about 1987 or thereabouts :o Lol, they're really old. But they're amazingly powerful at 120/200w per channel, and very clean with tons of subby bass when driven hard. http://j.imagehost.org/0311/8_16.jpg

I've never gotten rid of them because I don't know what else would be better. They were made by a company called Studio Power and these are the MC150's. I doubt the company exists anymore.

Least you have a can of relentless sitting :)

Love them Chairs :P Wish i could afford it at £100+

Only thing i am wondering why not just get one off the 200 length table tops out of ikea and make a supper long desk, instead of two miss matching.

Well I got the large self standing one about a year ago now and as it also had the glass top I didn't want to get rid of it. But then when I rearranged my room I wanted a 2nd desk area and Ikea had the same wood effect in just the desk surface without legs but it was either 120x60 or 200x75, but if I got the 200cm one then I would have had to have got rid of my glass desk and also the chair for the 2nd computer is a much larger leather chair, so I decided to keep costs down then I would just whack the other desk into the wall and supported by my main desk. It might look a bit messy but I still like. If I hadn't of bought the glass topped desk then yeah I would have just gone with one large desk, but also works out well as I can do a lot of cable hiding and it separates the areas nicely I feel.

I have a dual monitor setup and a TJ07 fits perfectly fine on the end over the table legs, but my case is atually routed on the other side of the room now so I have more room, a very nice desk though and the finish is superb.

Always check the contents before leaving IKEA though, I have had a couple of defects before.

Thanks mate. Maybe not what I'm after then :(.

ive used aluminium u bar mounted on the vesa mount of the monitor, the speakers are attached to this and not the wallso they tilt with the monitor. need to cover it in black vinyl wrap to match in.

It is the best looking desk I've seen. Think I might wall mount my monitors anyway and put my case on the floor or maybe even down size as I can't stand my Antec 1200 now. Ikea want £30 for delivery though
