Moved into Uni a few weeks back, and as I'm new I thought I should upload one anyway...

Currently running on just the laptop here... which is a bit odd, but have a second screen coming at Christmas, so that should help, also considering doing my first proper build up here so that I have a desktop up here as well :)

The 'work' area as a whole

The Wirey Mess - Personally don't think it's too bad - much better than some of my flat mates

The Hub and more Wire Mess - Tucked out of the way - at least this way I don't have to see it!

Anyone who has the Ikea Vika Amon table tops with the Curry legs - are the tables strong and sturdy? Those that come with the shelf units instead of legs - how are they attached to the table top, if at all?

The curry legs seem pretty stable, so long as the fittings are flush against the desk top you're fine.
As for the shelf edges, there are 4 little plastic "buttons" with which you get a piece of dowel (supplied) and hammer a nail (also supplied) into the unit. You then put in some rubber grommet-feet type things (once again, supplied). I would get you a picture but everyone's in bed and lord only knows where my camera is...

haz pro I was trying to get that mining tragedy out of my head! (Im a kiwi)

I have the same problem as you - no room for a desktop in my tiny flat. =(

My bad, i wasnt even paying attention to what was on tele!

And yeah i could probably fit it somewhere but i dont like living in clutter, the less possesions the better lol.

Ah, haz pro, it's nice to see someone who is also stuck at uni on a laptop!

I'm actually going to try and get a desktop up here and fit it under the desk though, might be a bit of a pain linking all the cables, but shouldn't be too much of an issue!

Also, that screen looks pretty huge! (or your desk really is tiny) What size is it?

haha think is if you look at the desk if i put a tower under it i wouldnt be able to fit my legs in the gap. If i put the tower next to the desk i would have to move the chest of draws into the kitchen area which i wouldnt like either haha. (I live with my partner, so we have our own kitchen).

The tele is a 32 inch, its pretty big compaired to what most people have here but i would have liked to bring my 40 here. How ever if you see even the 32 inch base is hanging off the edge because of the stupidly low book shelf!

You could stick the tower where your bin is and run a monitor cable up to the TV, or alternatively get a decent monitor. Would give you a bit of space for your legs and shifting the lappies would give you room for a kb/mouse. That TV does look a bit...erm out of place there lol.

Haha yeah it does but i dont like small teles for using the xbox!

If i got a decent monitor for a computer i think i would want 22+ inch and im not sure it would fit under the book shelf, i may have to bring my 22 inch tele here and try it out.
