My lovelies:

My desk is this tidy all year round :p .... actually no, it remains this tidy for a few days and then it becomes covered with random junk :(

And this thing that makes a lot of noise:

One of my Creative HS-800s cables has snapped though, but it works after fiddling and pushing it about.

What DAO book is that?

Nice one Alfie. What monitors are they and are those the orginal stands for them?

Also, love The Beatles picture. The time when they looked their best :)

Nice setup there Alfie. Is it me or are your monitors quite far away from you? Normally have mine touching my nose its so close.

I must say i do like that monitor bhavv. It has a certain Ford Focus ST feel about it :p

Size screen is that please.

Acer G24, probably the most overpriced TN film monitor ever made.

24 inch, 2 ms response time, 400 cd/m2 brightness, 1920x1200, glossy screen, awesome color vividness and sharpness.

£325 back when it first came out, and that was the lowest price on it, the normal price was around £380.

The only problem with it is, especially for the price, that its only 60 hz.

Oh, its replacement model was a lot better, slightly smaller and only 1080p, but 120hz:

Collectors edition strategy guide. TBH the book is a lot nicer than the game is. I played through about half of it twice and I get bored :(

Heh, I am a lover of DAO so your talking to the wrong person! :D Although that said, I wouldnt want the strategy guide anyway.

It might look like that from the picture but they are about 2.5ft away. You should not be that close to your monitor, I'm glad my desk is nice and wide so I can be at the correct distance. Does it not hurt your eyes being that close?

Here's my latest pic of my office now finished well for the time being anyway.

Unfortunatly due to the orientation of my desk and the size of the room i cant use my 7.1 speaker config so only using front center and front left and right + sub. Shame really i would like some rear speakers again.

"Correct distance"?

Do you have a reference for that? ;)

While I wouldn't recommend sitting at nose distance from your screen (if you can't see the whole screen in your field of vision while reading then it's a fail and you probably need your eyes tested) it will have more to do with the dot pitch of your monitor. For example, if you had a 1920x1200 on a 22" you'd have to sit closer than the same res on a 24".

I need to sit closer to my 12" laptop with a high res screen than my 24" desktop display with 1920x1200 res.

I do not know what you lot are on about. The picture is distorted and my monitors are the perfect distance away from me. Just measured at exactly 2 feet. If you have a 23" 1920x1080 monitor closer than that you're just sorry you don't have a wider desk. If I move any closer I have to move my head to see either edge of the screen and I have to turn my body around to see the second monitor.

I need to sit closer to my 12" laptop with a high res screen than my 24" desktop display with 1920x1200 res.

You will see I have a macbook air 11.6" with a tiny pixel pitch. I'm comfortable with that at around 2 feet. Maybe I have have strange eyes!
