Very nice!

But don't you get a little toasty when gaming as the exhaust fans will be blowing the hot air out towards you!

Haha its actually surpisingly cool, even with stock heatskink i keep my window open and have a massive desk fan under the desk just incase :D

Oh and tidusjar, it works for me, the hosting site may be a wee bit slow though.

Just type AMON on search box
Good luck!;)

cheers bastic :D, managed to finally get hold of an amon, justttttttttt about fits against the wall i wanted it for, now just a case of tidying cables and figuring out the best way to get my bookshelf speakers set up

Love the tank Raikiri, looks fantastic so much so i want one. I've found the tank but in all honesty i have no experience looking after fish. So i've got a few questions fella.

If i buy the tank what other parts would i need to buy?

The plants, sand and objects where did you purchase them from?

With that size tank (23ltr) how many fish could it support and what type?

How often would i need to clean the tank out?

Hope you can help fella

It's the Ikea Micke: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/60180036 with additional matching cabinets. I have the same desk, thinking of getting the shorter version to add on to the end.

Thanks mate.

What colour is this? In Jon1818's picture it looks to me as if it is Black/White but on the Ikea it is Black-Brown/White. The picture on the Ikea site definitely shows it has a touch of brown to it. Maybe its just the lighting in Jon1818's picture making it appear black.

Also, the Drawer unit with drop-file storage which Jon has on the left has 2 small drawers on top, a larger drawer followed by a smaller one at the bottom. The Ikea site has the 3 smaller drawers at the top, with the larger drawer at the bottom. I take it you can fit them in any order?

Cheers. They're nice tanks but the smaller the tank the more limited they are. They also require more work to keep them going.

Plants, sand, glass cleaner, replacement filter media, water treatment and a heater for tropical fish. Will cost around £30-40.

The plants, sand and objects where did you purchase them from?

Various places, plants were from eBay, sand from an online pet store.

I would say 5-8 small fish and a couple of shrimp would be the max. Danios, guppies, small barbs and later on tetras are all suitable. I currently have 4 guppies, 3 tiger barbs, 2 shrimp and a YoYo loach.

The loach is only in there to eat some snails that came on one of the plants, then it's going as it will get too large for the tank.

How often would i need to clean the tank out?

The more fish you have the more often you'll need to clean it. I usually do a 25% water change and clean out the filters every 3-4 days. Plus I'll occasionally use the magnetic cleaner for the glass.

Cheers for the promt reply Raikiri.

Do you use real plants or plastic ones? I was just reading real are better for fighting off algue and supply food for the fish.

How often would i need to do a major clean, like complete new supply of water, sand, plant change a proper cleanout? Changing the filter and clearing some water shouldn't be too much of a problem.

They're real, you may want to make a co2 generator (http://www.tropicalfishkeeping.com/diy-aquarium/diy-co2-generator-611/) to keep them nice and healthy though.

Complete clean maybe every 4-6 months I guess. I wouldn't do it very often as moving the fish will stress them.
