Is it bad that I remember that exact model of 'ghetto blaster'? :D was deffo mid to late-90's, was in my mid/late teens at that point.

God I'm old. :(

xmas 95 I think I got my first PC, 486 DX66 (66mhz:D) with windows for workgroups 3.11

We had 486 and 386 PC's at my school in 94/95ish and longed for pentiums... :D

Lucky you, my school used mostly Acorn A3000 and A3010s then, there was one pc in the library, which was mostly used for Encarta, that was iirc a 486DX. This was a school of around 800 or so pupils too.

Looks more like mid '90s kit than early '00s. Then again being Packard Bell ...they were hardly the last word in cutting edge :p

As an ex-PCW employee (student part-time job) it is an early 00s Packard Hell. I left in mid-2000, the imedia range launched after I left.

The great thing about digital cameras is that you can find out what date and time the photo was taken

Clothes rack on the left optional:confused:

Does the front of the table give much if you learn on it (say when typing etc). I am looking at getting a desk but not sure of how strong desks like that are (with only support towards the back).

I've got a similar desk which came from a commercial office. They are very strong. I weigh 82kg and can sit on the front and it only gives down about 1-2cm. I got mine for free from an office that was closing down.

You can find these sort of things on ebay in the commercial office supplies section.

I have been looking for administration stock etc and keep seeing this sort of desk, I was a little weary about there being no legs at front but seems I was worrying for no reason! :)

They're fantastic. Very very sturdy and solid. And they usually come in massive sizes if you like. I've got a 160cm one and a 100cm one end to end to make a 260cm long desk.

Interesting you have brought that up. I am looking at an 1800 to 2000 mm desk, probably 80 ish deep. I wonder if a desk as wide as I require will be as stable as a thinner desk.

Well mine are 100cm deep, and the 160cm wide desk is just as sturdy as the 100cm wide desk. I can sit on the front at the middle of each and it barely drops down 1-2cm.
