These are the A2's rather than the A2+'s. Sound-wise, they're fairly neutral and natural sounding. They benefit a lot from the D1 stands which angle the speakers/tweeters towards the ears and also from a degree of toe-in. Bass is limited due to the diminutive size but an external active sub can be connected to fill that out (I've done this myself previously with an old REL Strata).

If you do decide on these, I would also say that it's worth investigating the APO Equalizer and look at some profiles which addresses some of the shortcomings.

Bottom line is that I like them.

Thanks for the detailed responce.
Do they have BT out for connecting some BT headphones?

I basically need some speakers which i can connect to the PC and listen to music and also use BT headphones with.

surely the simpler option would be to get a Bluetooth dongle for your PC to enable connection of your headset. You would then have far more choice of speakers as you wouldn’t need the ability to connect headphones which I think will be a fairly niche feature. Most speakers will only be designed to allow Bluetooth in.

I've tried various BT dongles and to be honest they dont sound all that good for music.
My mother board even has BT built in (MSI X570 Tomahawk Wifi) and the sound quality is garbage.

I've gone for some Kef LSX in the end.

Ikea have discontinued the Alex drawers! They are bringing out a replacement in April.
Any suggestions for an alternative?
Was thinking about using the Kallax or Eket instead but not sure they will be strong enough to hold a kitchen worktop and 2 monitors etc.

I'm in the same situation (the oak Alex units seem to be still available though, for how long I don't know). I've had a Kallax unit for a few years now, but not used as a desk unit (it does have my case and a printer on it), I'm unconvinced it'll hold weight of a worktop and all the kit on top, as the sides, top and bottom, whilst looking quite thick (just measured mine and they're 50mm) they're hollow. It's possible the unit may distribute the weight evenly and hold up if the overall length isn't too long.

I think I'm going to wait until April and see what the updated Alex units look like and make a decision then, I've looked around for alternatives, but most similar units all seem to have castors. Unless anyone here does come up with an alternative.

My completed desk setup built from scratch :p :)
Took me couple of weeks all together- starting from building metal frame, cutting MDF, solder iron rgb and completely hide all cables to upgrade PC components (including 32" monitor).
Time too enjoy I guess.

Looks pretty small on a pic considering its 220m x 90cm + (100cm x 50cm keyboard shelf).

Overall pretty happy and impressed by result!

Recently got my desk set up again with a new top to fir into the recess around the window in my room, very happy with it so far

Do you not get a sore neck looking up at that top monitor?

Nah as if I'm watching it properly, I'm in the recliner. If I'm at my desk then it's usually just on as background noise, like podcasts or Sky News. I very rarely look at it, other than the odd glance, while actually at my desk

Temporary Home office in the Conservatory before the conservatory is knocked down and an extenstion is put in place. Looks a little scand and minimal but that is only because it will be properly done once extenstion is built and i have a proper home office set up.

What’s on the tripod?

Hi there, they’re Audioengine A2’s on the DS1 stands and connected to the Audioengine D1 DAC.

Many thanks, I'm certainly tempted, I'd be connecting to a DacMagic 100 if possible. PC to DacMagic 100 via USB or optical and then connected to the Audioengine A2+ is.

Some very nice desk setups here and when I sort mine out again I'll post.
