Hey Guys,
I'm very close to the next major system upgrade to my current system. Been holding out for BullDozer like everyone else for the last few years. I don't have that much money and whatever I do have to spare generally goes on my hobby
I currently have 3x Dell SP2309W Monitors ( 2048 * 1152 Standard Res / 6144 * 1152 Eyefinity ) Supported by a Q6600 @3.3Ghz and 8 Gig 1066Mhz Gold OCZ Memory, 2x 6950 ( Flashed to 6970 @ 6970 Clock / Max 6970 speeds ( Stable )
My current setup requires a new CPU, MOBO n RAM until I will be happy but i'm not one for wasting money and want to see a nice AMD / INTEL war when the new chips come out like everyone else
I'm currently studying Computer Science ( Software Develpoment / Prgramming ) And enjoy it very much. I originally went down the eyefinty route to play games but pretty much gave up on it after crossfired 5870s and my current 6950s ( 6970s ), Plenty of power but let down by shoddy drivers ect ( PC Gamming is screwed ) I did however fall in love with the space a productivity improvment. I'd rather play a game on one monitor and code on 3
Anyways what I now want to do this year is build a brand new PC from scratch using some of my old components ( GFX Cards + Case ect ) and keep the remaining components to build another SQL Server ect for coding
I really want to make a personal setup ( Possibly watercooling ) for my new PC and I also want to integrate the old set-up ( For use as server ) all in the same place.
The chase : I really like my setup right now but would like to possibly cut the glass holing the keyboard so that it fits in perfect, I would like to design my own entire case to hold a new build with PSU x 2 and have more than enough room for eyefinity and actully fit SATA cables into a normal MOBO !!! I basically want make my own case from scratch via aluminium, design it properly and modify my desk the way I want it. I appreciate this is a major task but would appreciate any help / suggestions from anyone in the same boat as to which material to buy and tools required for the modificications.
Thanking You,
Kev
