Desktops!!

Hey guys i applied dru's theme and its great but i have a problem in firefox where the menu fonts seem to have changed. It looks like a different font and is smaller. Firefox is the only application affected by this.

Anyone know how to change it back to the original font. When looking in the font properties before and after the theme is applied all the values are the same. When reverting back to Luna theme the font goes back to normal.

Edit: on applying the verdana font all the menus become the same font, but only when using sans serif does the firefox menu font seem different.

Firstly as regards the theme. You need to extract the nw_uxtheme.zip file and then run the exe inside so that it can patch your uxtheme.dll file. then you extract your theme in to the

Windows/resources/themes

directory.

It doesn't matter which order you do it in.

everything inside that zip file is related to the desktop that you want suki. all of the samurize widgets, samurize itself everything is in there. all you need is icon packager. i think i did put all this in the readme but i can't remember now.

Spirit is the name of a theme for Winamp (you have to have pro i think but i'm not sure)

and aveiconbook is a way to display and sort through all of your icons. It doesn't do anything else but sort icons. You point it at the folder you keep your icons in and then it sorts them and allows you to view thumbnails and search your directory for specific icons.

oh and the firefox thing. Just go to tools/optoins/fonts

change sans serif font to Arial and that should fix it. if it's too small then set the size to 16 :)

Got my new system all setup, looking like a beauty.

The only thing i'm no sure on is the icons, are these availble free online? What package do you need to replace all the windows icons with some cool looking ones?

Also any chance of sharing all your wallpapers? I've got your 'green grass' wallpaper from your download, are there any more?

Cheers for your reply I have now got it all done :)

I quite like a lot of your desktop shame i cant download a few :p As I would only now need the theme Folder as i now got my computer all set up for themes and other bits and bobs. How about you send me your fave desktop ;)

BTW how did you do the Mac taskbar is that easy or not

If you've downloaded any of the .zip files I've posted a little above these posts then you already have an icon packager set. you just need to download icon packager. You can use that program to change all of the icons in your system easily :) and it's shareware by default so you don't have to buy it you'll just get a pop up each time you run it (and you only have to run it when you wanna change your icons so it's not really an issue)

As regards the wallpapers maybe I can put up a few of my fave walls in a zip file tomorrow morning???? If you'd like that of course. i'd put all of them up but I've got around 700mb's worth (or maybe more).

And if I ever decide which desktops my favourite I'll certainly put it up for download. :)

And since I'm in a good mood if you wanna pick any of the desktops in my gallery (from my screenshots link in my sig) I'll find all the bits and put it up for download. Bear in mind the older it is the less chance I'll have it. But I have around 80% of the stuff I used to have still.

On a final note I'm glad this threads come alive again! It went a bit quiet in here for a while :)

Do you mean a mac dock?? like with all the big icons in?? or do you mean the taskbar that runs at the top with finder, windows etc in???

Both are fairly easy to do but you need different software to accomplish each.

Where did you get the plain folder icon, I have checked the apple icons and can't seem to find the correct folder icon.

The one with the big icons like mac alike I love to try that one day if it does not bugger up my pc ha ha

Will have a look at your picture and see what i like best all i would need is the theme and the like not software to put them up as you know i got it all now :)

on your screenshot page I like the 9th one down the one with red splash back ground and also you know those 3 big icon at the bottom how do i get that please as that be a good use for me

So I like that theme and the way to do those 3 big icon at the bottom

Those icons are from a longhorn Alternative icon set.

I'm using Avedesk to display them on the desktop so that I can link drives/folders to them :)

I'll upload the latest version of avedesk and the icons tomorrow morning :)

Are you uploading the 9th theme that is on your screenshot page? Do you upload these at work on a faster connection? As I love to have them tonight while I got more time but if not dont worry mate

Sorry I was talking about the plain folder icons. In your screenshot, there are a series of folders 'Drivers', 'Dru Stuff' and 'Games' etc. I really like the simple folder icon you have used.
