Obviously but unix is not a viable desktop OS. Even the current release of freebsd doesn't support everything in the box I run it on (properly anyway) and that's only an nforce 2 with quite normal hardware.
However, I can easily make my freebsd desktop look the same as the above using xfree and *box...so, your original statement could have been blown out of the water![]()

Linux is fine with the nforce 2, the 2.6x kernels have problems with APIC but that can be worked around easily, the BSD box again has no probs with the nforce, I was just showing the generation of hardware being used.


OS X is based on a darwin core, linux/unix is not based on OS X![]()
