Use ALT+255 (just a space) for the first one then do it twice for the second icon and so on.

1: In WinXP Go to START and select Run
2: Type gpedit.msc
3: Navagate to User Configuration / Administrative Templates / Click on Desktop
4: On the right hand search " Remove Recycle Bin icon on the desktop " double click it to enable it.
5: You then need to log off then back on for the change to happen
