Detailing Stages

looks like polar pre-wash is not too expensive 2.5l/£8.4 so maybe I would use 100ml ... but, usual strategy, like screen wash, use what seems reasonable -
regularly use up rejected hair shampoos, in a two bucket wash.

... but ? you are allowed to clean cars in underground parking ?

I don't see why not, this is where I washed the car yesterday...

@ShiWarrior Worx make their own foam cannon for the hydroshot series see here...

https://www.worx.com/high-pressure-foam-cannon-wa1740.html

It says “Universal ¼ in. quick-connect adapter is compatible with every Worx Hydroshot power cleaner and every Worx pressure washer”

So from that I’d say any foaming cannon with 1/4 quick connector would be compatible but don’t quote me on that.

I’m looking at getting a proper foam cannon instead of using the soap dispenser that comes with it.

Link should take you to the product information about their foam cannon. It’s strange but looking at reviews of 1/4 quick connector foam cannons on Amazon some say they work with the Hydroshot, some say they don’t.

I’ve got the WG629E Hydroshot and there’s a review on Amazon of it in which it states the Amazon Basics foam cannon works with it.

ive just been looking, and the only thing i can find is the "soap dispenser" which i have

but ive also seen a video of people using the MATCC foam dispenser on the end

This is the one I’m looking at...

https://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasi.../259-4967912-3837354?pd_rd_i=B08LNCBBNZ&psc=1

Its a proper foam cannon rather than a soap dispenser like what comes with it. There’s a review saying it works with the WG629E which I have and it’s supposed to work with the WG630E model too.

The difference is that you’d get thicker foam with a proper foam cannon and as I’m getting some Polar Seal soon too I want to make sure I’m using the right equipment.

ah, the Amazon one, no idea if its going to be any better than the soap dispenser filled with snow foam or not

It should be as you can control the pressure whereas the soap dispenser is only one speed. Like I said earlier Worx make their own foam cannon which is similar to the Amazon one.

interesting :

Thanks for that, I think I’ll get the cheaper Amazon one as I have the funnels I need to decanter the snow foam into the bottle. It does a much better job than the soap dispenser that comes with the Hydroshot and the guy in the video says it’s still decent.

yeah, a funnel is like £1 anyway, so no bigger, it should do the job
ive got 5 Litres of Bilt Hamber, so thats going to last me a while

Maybe the cheap cheap cheap ones are naff but I can get my 25 quid autobrite one to be thicker than that expensive one he used, looks like a bit of a fudged video/result where he ran more water through the cheap one to give a watered down result, literally.

The Worx does have a 1/4" quick connect collar (the metal collar you pull back that allows ball bearings to relax and release the quick connect male end), although the quick connect on my WG629 wouldn't release the multi setting head. Not sure if that's by design or my unit was seized?

I've recently replaced my Worx unit with a Greenworks GDC40 unit and bought a MJJC lance for it and I've had fantastic foam results with that setup. The GDC40 can produce 70 bar, more than the Worx units but less than the 90 bar most foam cannons state as the minimum. What does help through is if you buy a foam cannon that has the option to replace the orifice inside to a smaller 1.1mm piece, as the smaller orifice helps with lower pressures.

I’ve got that cheap Amazon one and it goes on much thicker than he managed in that video.

I’d have the pattern narrower than he used for a start but even so, that was a terrible comparison.

I think a lot of these videos are full of gear snobs anyway, so get what you can afford. If you need to spend triple on a snow foam attachment that does the job 10% better; then you’ve already lost the plot.

nice, can you change the pattern on these then ? and did you use a portable pressure washer like the worx ?
