Device to Alert Mum at night if Child needs her

Well I accidentally found a solution that's already been mentioned.

My mother couldn't remember the name that our smart devices had for her bedroom lights (or that she could just ask to turn on the lights and it knew where she was). Got up in the middle of the night to go to the loo, asked Alexa to turn on "bedroom" which was our room. Suddenly bathed in light I most certainly woke up unexpectedly. Changed the name of the group of the lights in our bedroom to "Frank" for the rest of the week so she wouldn't accidentally trigger them again!

So a bulb, maybe not quite so bright, and your choice of trigger (voice, button, phone if the daughter has one) would do the trick.

I would be worried about something like a doorbell in an apartment (it's a flat), and annoying neighbours in the middle of the night. I guess it depends how thick the walls are.

Blank firing handgun. If the noise of the shot doesn't wake her the police will kindly knock on the door and even social services may provide a cuddle.

Is the cat waking the child up repeatedly and disturbing their sleep too? I’m being slightly flippant, but understand how terrible sleep can be with kids as we’re going through what must be teething with our little one too.

I’m not sure how being woken up by a doorbell is any worse than being woken up by a child. Unless they’re sneaking into bed and mum isn’t waking up of course!
