Devil's Canyon Z97 Build

Are you going to use two fans or four fans (as push/pull) for the H105?

Just a heads-up the H105 only comes with 8 longs screw for mounting two fans onto the rad, if you gonna add another two fans, you'd have to source 8 more 6-32 UNC Radiator Screws.

Thanks for the heads up. I hear the H105 doesn't even fit in the 450D, but I've seen 4 builds with the H105 in the 450d. So If they can do it I can do it too:) Also I doubt I can ever do push and pull with 450d so no mate I'll be doing just 2 fans. I found using my H100i is push and pull it's only 2c difference so it's not worth it. Even if I wanted to do push/pull it wouldn't work with 450D.

Finally ordered DC 4790k:D

Mobo: Asus Maximus VII Hero z97

I figured since I was doing my first red and white and dark theme I should also change my keyboard and mouse too. I have a corsair k70 with blue LED's and mouse with blue led too. Going red this time. even though it's been done to death by others. It's my very first time. So also ordered the black K70 with red LED's and Corsair Raptor M45 red LED's.

CPU is still a week or 2 away so I have the mobo coming Monday so I'll start build without CPU. Just need to get the H105 to fit. Hope that goes smoothly?

Just a quick update.

I just now opened up for 450D and the front panel latch on the bottom right is cracked off. It's loose. Just talked to the people that I got it off of and their going to contact corsair and get my a replacement.

This is the good latch.

Started build, but my 4 year old son is touching everything and completely doing my head in so I'm stopping for the the day. He put super mario stickers on my mobo box and case box? It's good it came off my mobo box easily.

Here's what I've done so far

Sorry for the bad phone photos.

I've got a fan controller going in the top drive bay

Hooked up SSD. mobo mostly all wired up. Just need PSU, Case lighting H105, seems like it'll fit. Don't know why Corsair says it wont fit a 450D?

Let me know how it goes with the H105, I went for the H100i as i read the website and assumed it wouldn't fit.

Must be a reason they said it doesn't fit ?

I have a h100i too,but wanted to try a h105. Also h100i is broken with wins 8.1 I've seen 4 builds with the h105. I just put the rad for a quick sec and it seemed to fit fine. Don't understand corsair thinking?

Corsair RMA is about as good as it gets. Just contact them you will have a replacement in a matter of days. I broke a clip on my 800d - emailed the RMA and they gave me a link to order a whole new front panel. Build is looking great. The hero board was a good choice they look great. Good luck with the rest of it.

Corsair H105 fits great mate:D You have to fit it like you see me have it. It wont work the other way. Also you better pre-cable your drive bays and CPU power cable before you installed the rad. Since the rad is so thick, you wont be able too after installing rad.

It's all starting to come together. Looks good so far. Have to leave h105 pump hanging down in case. Need DC 4790k now:D

I really dislike how the front panel looks when you load the 5.25 drive bays, ruins the looks of an otherwise nice case. Same issue with the 750D and 900D as well.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of the build come together. :)

Your right. It's the Obsidian series all together that is like that. tbh mate it doesn't bother me at all. Looks totally fine to me. It doesn't have to be perfect. If it works I'm happy.

Changing my GPU's for lower end one. I don't really bench all that much and while I do game on my PC the games I play don't really need the most high end and powerful GPU. So selling my 2x evga 780 sc cards for 2 Asus GeForce GTX 760 Striker GPU's in SLI. More then enough for what I do and they look so damn cool with my theme:D
