I've got an old D-Tek chipset block that will probably fit now I've moved the graphics card to the lower PCI-E slot (good old Tygon had the necessary flexibility to allow me to move it without having to refit tubing).

What kind of performance hit should I expect (with my 7800 GTX) if I:

1) split the PCI-E lanes to 8/8 instead of 16/2 by moving the jumper blocks?

2) leave it in the bottom slot without changing the jumpers?

I'm just wondering as I've moved it and everything still appears to be working fine, though I haven't changed the jumpers yet.
